HEADSPACE- my opening note to you
🌿 Grounding into Spring
🍃Spring continues to unfold here in my Pacific Northwest, bringing fresh opportunities to clean & refresh our home spaces🌱,
👩🌾connect with new farmers in our communities👩🌾,
🐣 and nurture ourselves with seasonal traditions. 🐣
🏡Here’s your weekly guide to home living that brings you closer to nature . ☀️
Things i’ve been up to this week: more seed starting on my starting shelf that “Don My Hubs” made, working with raw milk, cleaned up my garden to get ready for direct sowing, saved a hummingbird from my cat and held him in my hand, made spring tonic recipe from last weeks newsletter , continuing a longterm property plan despite frustration with slow results, had MRI imaging done to look at any abnormal adrenal gland and liver issues, found a lot of misinformation on the inter webs regarding local plant foraging, removed my builder grade glass shower doors to be able to clean better (the plan is to install a tiled walk in shower, but we are not there yet), got sucked into an inter web black hole of recipes from 1888 including lamp glue, cider preservative, and furniture polish.

DIY- Better For You Easter Eggs
This week, I’m sharing 2 blog posts from the interwebs to give you some better for you options for your EASTER:
Famous “Crowded Kitchen” Peanut Butter Easter Eggs
Easter Egg Dyeing With Natural Dyes
Benefit: Natural dyes are eco-friendly, safe, and create unique, beautiful results without synthetic chemicals.

🥛 Kitchen Wisdom: Raw Milk 101
Curious about using raw milk? Traditionally, spring & early summer are peak season for fresh milk that is rich in enzymes, probiotics, and nutrients.
Getting Started:
Always source raw milk from trusted, local farms practicing safe handling.
Start slowly—incorporate raw milk into your protein drinks and/or smoothies, or make homemade yogurt to enhance gut health naturally.
👉 Quick Tip: Shake your jar of raw milk to distribute cream and pour into half gallon jars. Label with date received and date frozen, freeze jar with no lid but cap jar to store.

🛁 Home Renewal: Bathroom Refresh Made Simple
Spring cleaning through out the decades has meant opening up spaces for better energy flow and to clean out the winter buildup from increased indoor living. Inspired by my own spring bathroom refresh (bye-bye builder-grade glass doors!), consider:
Replacing dated or impractical fixtures, like replacing glass shower doors that were impossible to keep clean with a washable shower curtain... can dramatically simplify your cleaning routines.
Small upgrades, like hooks instead of towel bars, or an open shelf for plants and linens, can make spaces both beautiful and functional.
👉 DIY Inspiration: Even without a major renovation, small changes can elevate your daily routines and happiness at home.
🌱 Garden Rituals: Seed Starting & Direct Sowing
As we move deeper into spring, it’s the perfect time to directly sow hardy veggies and herbs like carrots, radishes, spinach, and cilantro.
🌱Your Weekly Garden Task:
Prepare beds by gently loosening soil and adding compost.
Start seeds indoors for tender plants like tomatoes and peppers, ensuring your seedlings are robust for planting out after frost risks pass.
👉 Note: Embrace patience. Gardening teaches us about growth at its own pace—a powerful lesson beyond the soil.
HEADSPACE for THIS WEEK
✨ Mind & Body Check-in: Seasonal Health Reset
Spring is traditionally a time to reassess and refresh our physical and emotional health.
Weekly Challenge:
Schedule that wellness appointment you've been putting off—whether a physical check-up, dental cleaning, or mental health session. Listen to your body’s quiet signals for care.
👉 Mindfulness Reminder: Your well-being is your greatest investment. Prioritize small steps each day toward balanced health.
YOUR SPRING JOURNAL PROMPTS for THIS WEEK
📖 Journal Prompts for Reflection:
1. 🌱 Seeds of Growth:
"What seeds am I planting right now—physically, emotionally, or spiritually? How am I tending to them?"
2. 🐦 Moments of Compassion:
"Think of a recent moment when you offered or received kindness. What feelings arose from this experience, and how can I nurture more compassion in my daily life?"
3. 🏡 Patience in Progress:
"Reflect on a project or goal that feels slow or frustrating. What can I appreciate about this journey, and how can I find joy and fulfillment in incremental progress?"
Take some quiet moments this week to move gently and reflect intentionally. Remember, it's not just our gardens that flourish with care—our minds and bodies thrive when tended gently too.
