And I am using the time to work on shedding winter heaviness (mentally & physically) and some cultivate fresh routines (& greens). Where are you at today? Are you starting to feel brighter yet? My personal message to you is an invitation to join me in speeding up the healing of our respective communities by slowing down and intentionally moving. work with that for a bit this week and see what your mind weaves. HOME & GARDEN Seed Starting

This year I’m not overthinking my garden this year like usual. It’s always the least tended to plants that grow the strongest for me 🧐… here’s the plan…DIY at your home if you can and let’s share our progress!

  • Using old micro green clamshells, last season discard trays from a local former commercial farmer - Recycled red solo cups work good too.

  • mixing one bag of organic seed starting mix with some organic fertilizer. I have found potting mix to be increasingly sterile and wouldn’t bother without adding fertilizer…just sayin’

  • setting to start on covered patio on a plastic covered starting rack. Using the grow bulbs I have that provide a questionable amount of light but I figure by staring them outside I can easily pull them off the rack and into the sun on warm days. - A sunny window sill works too if you have one!

  • tray starting list- peppers, tomatoes, parsley, lemonbalm, yarrow, calendula, helichrysum- Beginners List- cilantro, mint, chives, radish, lettuce

  • direct sow- peas, beans, carrots, radish, greens

HEADSPACE - A Spring Reset Meditation

Spring represents new beginnings. Let’s dispel some chaos and cultivate some focus.

This week start your morning with 5 minutes of mindful breath work. Before you get out of bed in the morning set your timer for 5. Lie flat and begin by lengthening your spine and extremities, eyes lightly closed. Shift your attention to your breathing and follow the contours of your breath in the body. Try to notice the points at which your inhale changes into an exhale. No need to count or alter your breath in anyway just notice for a few natural cycles and then while you keep breathing naturally, begin to visualize signs of spring, breathing deeply as each sign comes. blooming daffodils, new nettles poking up, ducks and birds in search of their new homes, the rains

Let me know if you notice this helping to ease the chaos.😘

SPRING REFRESH JOURNALING PROMPTS

  • What habits do I want to cultivate this spring?

  • What areas of my home or garden most need my attention?

  • How can I integrate more nature and mindfulness into my daily routine?

  • Reflecting on winter, what am I ready to let go of this season?

Take a moment each evening to journal one thing you accomplished or enjoyed. Celebrating small wins keeps motivation high.

DIY- Botanical Pressings

Enjoy a creative break by preparing some pressing spring botanicals:

  • set aside a time block for a nature wander (actually schedule it!)

  • if you don’t have any heavy books at home, make a trip to the thrift and the home store and pick up 2 large hardcover books, and a large paver stone of brick about the size of the books. its better to use a paver stone than just a random rock because the weight will be distributed evenly.

  • in the forest or at a park gather small fresh blooms, new leaves or even blades of grass. just make sure they aren’t large or too bulbous.

  • lay out your finds between parchment paper under heavy books for 2-3 weeks

  • I am saving mine for a lampshade project I am dreaming up… but framing your pressings is great natural wall art to brighten your space! Frames are easy to come by… thrift, estate sales, buy nothing groups, post an ask…
